FINANCIAL AID

The University offers a variety of fellowships. Fellows are nominated by the Department in the first week of March, and are available for Fall applicants. To be eligible, therefore, students must have their entire application on file by January 15th.

The University also provides need-based scholarships funded by the federal government. These are based on financial need as determined by the FAFSA form and are awarded in the middle of April. We urge all students to complete a FAFSA application form online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

The Department of English has funds for assisting students in their graduate studies in exchange for work. Each spring, competitive assistantships are awarded for the following year. You must have a current resume on file and e-mail the Graduate Office about your interest in being considered by January 15th.

Students who have earned 36 semester hours or more are no longer eligible for assistantships.

For more information about Financial Aid, please see the Graduate Handbook.
