Literature

Exam Content:
The Literature comprehensive exam focuses on works from a 25-30 item reading list and consists of essay questions. In answering the questions, you may refer to other works that are taught in graduate courses but are not on your list, or other works with which you are familiar. A new list is announced five months prior to the test.

Although the exact number of questions may vary from year to year, you will be able to choose from a selection of alternatives. For instance, you may be able to choose four from a total of ten essay questions. You are required to answer four essay questions, and you must earn a passing grade on at least three of those answers.
